THE GRID OF NYC, OUR INSPIRATION FOR FW22

In approaching this FW’22 season, we looked for inspiration in the finite – in architecture. Roaming the Big Apple, we found a sense of deep calm and beauty in the predictability of New York City’s Grid. Designed in 1811, an ingenious transportation layout crisscrosses the borough of Manhattan, with all of its streets and avenues. As you travel around the island, the Grid (as it is known) makes a complex place instantly navigable.

Like the Grid, our designs are meant to excite and calm—a contradiction, yes, but one with intention. There’s the thrill of exploring new possibilities, but, at the same time, great style should always coalesce, rather than complicate.

Inspired by the Grid’s zigs and zags, we’ve incorporated into our newest designs stark straight lines, carefully constructed curves and—of course—our signature architectural positioning of zippers, cuts and shapes. And because fashion is about more than just clothes (as much as we obsess over ours), we’re excited to announce that this will be the first season when we launch full collections of both bags and shoes, accompanied by belts and our first-ever wallets - elaborate designs all handcrafted by exceptional European artisans from genuine Italian leather for superior luxury and fit.

True to our vision, the Grid collection combines clean lines and geometric construction with the occasional surprise of asymmetry to exude a bold, individual edge.

 Material matters.

The classic European fabrics and trims our customers have come to love—premium ponte, sustainable tencel jersey, unique sheer jersey, and organic cotton, each in versatile neutrals with hot pink and muted gray accents this season—serve as core materials for the FW22 collection, along with pops of smooth, supple velvet to usher in the cooler months.

With a keen eye for sustainability, we continue to embrace the mission for slow fashion, eliminating waste, prioritizing quality over quantity. Ours is clothing meant to be worn and re-worn, to last both in terms of eternal style and construction excellence. Committed to conscious design, we continue to embrace innovative approaches to eco-friendly fashion, including small batch, “just-in-time” production, biodegradable packaging, and sustainable fabrics and trims. Because, to us, fashion and impact are two sides of the same coin.
